Why We Are Going to Two Services
Beginning on May 12th, Mother’s Day, LifeJourney Church will be going to two Sunday morning worship services. God is blessing our church and is sending new people every single Sunday. We have begun to run out of room. Experts say that a church is full when they are at 70% capacity. Well, we have been at about 75-80% capacity for well over a year now. Also, while the sanctuary is at 70% seating capacity, the parking lot is at 100% capacity! There is absolutely no more parking spaces available! The time to go to multiple services is WAY PAST DUE!
Jesus said, “37“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” – Matthew 9:38 God continues to send people to our fellowship and it is our responsibility to WELCOME them, LOVE them, PREACH the GOSPEL to them, DISCIPLE them, and then SEND them back out into their community, the pastorate, and the mission fields.
We have three choices at this time:
1) Turn people away. (Not an option)
2) Build a new building. (It would unwise to undergo that kind of financial burden at this time)
3) Go to multiple services. (The BEST option right now)
In order for this to be a success, we need a VOLUNTEER ARMY! We ABSOLUTELY CANNOT GROW anymore as a church unless you step up and serve. Our two greatest needs are in the nursery and KidJourney. Parents want to know that they can leave their children in a safe, positive environment where their children will learn about Jesus, and mom and dad can worship freely and grow in their walk with Christ at the same time. And if they do not have a positive experience the first time they visit? They will move on.
Would you be able to help in these two VERY IMPORTANT ministries? The more volunteers we have, the lesser the burden of course. Remember, God has called EACH ONE OF US to serve. We will have volunteer sign up sheets available at both services this coming Sunday. I can’t wait to see you and see what God is going to do at LifeJourney Church!
As we have went to two services in the last 3 years, I can say that you are spot on Pastor Wade. Parents AND kids are very interested in how the children are taken care of. I know that Life Journey will be successful in this endeavor….but you are right, Volunteers are highly valued!
