These are questions I have had on my mind lately. Sometimes people can’t tell when I am playing, so while I hope these questions will provoke thought, this post is meant to be tongue in cheek. (In case you were wondering)
Questions
- Why is it that everyone on staff at mega-churches look like they just stepped out of an Abercrombie and Fitch catalog?
- I’m all for serving coffee at church, but what does it say to those who are in need, when we are sipping iced coffee while they are trying to figure out how to buy a loaf of bread?
- Why is it I can’t find a young guitarist to come lead worship at my church, but NewSpring has multiple guitarist sitting on the sidelines waiting for their chance to “get on stage”?
- Why is it the kids at SWU called me “sir” but they call Perry Noble (who is only two years younger than me) “Perry”?
- Do I need to “wash that gray right out of my hair” and start wearing ripped blue jeans?
- Should I get a tattoo to be more culturally relevant?
- Kids I graduated with are getting jobs at Mega-churches for their first jobs. Should I have not served God at a small church while going to college?
- Am I now going to wear the “small church” label the rest of my life?
- Does anybody else find it ironic that 2,000 people will drive to watch Perry Noble preach on a screen when they can watch him at home on the Internet (while drinking their latte)?
- Does anybody else think their career has been like “rain on their wedding day” and “fly in their chardonnay”?
More questions later as they come to mind…

Shazam! Golly. Several of these questions are good questions that should be looked at for real.
